#1- I routinely advise my clients to try to get 72 hours in the home after closing for precisely the reason you stated. Were successful about 9 out of 10 times.
#2- Use a skilled, experienced agent wholl manage your sale closely. Rarely are sales suddenly delayed on the scheduled closing date without warning. Your agent should have warned you of a possible delay so you didnt move out.
