The owner of this wacky house is Terry Brown, a professor of Architecture and Interior Design at the University of Cincinnati.
When he bought it back in 1989, it was a perfectly normal-looking residence. Over the next several years, he and over 35 of his students went to work creating something truly unique.
Stained glass windows, eclectic building materials and a variety of bizarre shapes give the house (which Brown used as an office) its distinctive look. The most noticeable feature is the cone-shaped structure that gives the Mushroom House its name.
While it may not be to everyone’s taste, there’s no denying that it’s a form of architecture the likes of which the world has never seen.
